We all live and work with the products we sell.
Alternative Power Enterprises President, Leif Juell, started the company in 1992 after experiencing first hand the rewards of living off-the-grid. Soon after installing his own system neighbors began calling and asking him to install solar power systems to power their homes. Now builders, architects, business, and residential clients count on Alternative Power Enterprises expertise to design cost effective power solutions for on- and off-grid locations. All of Alternative Power Enterprises clients are seeking to reduce their dependence on the utility grid and lower their energy and heating costs. As President, Leif is leading the company to provide renewable energy systems and services for space heating, water heating, and electrical power with the same goal as the Zero Energy Home movement--to make each building energy efficient, energy generating, and balanced with the energy needs of its owners and occupants. As a father of two sons he is motivated in implementing the use of sustainable energy now, to provide a sustainable world and preserve resources for future generations.
Leif has a strong electrical and electronics background, and a B.S. in Broadcast Engineering. Under his leadership Alternative Power Enterprises is certified and qualified to design, install, and service renewable energy systems of all kinds. Alternative Power Enterprises is knowledgeable of leading alternative power technologies and is an active attendee of technical and certification trainings and workshops.

Jill Markey manages Alternative Power Enterprises' off-grid office, directing customer care, ordering, billing, and lighting sales. As a mother of two boys, she shares a concern for the environment, and hopes to leave a better world for future generations. She researches green products such as non-paper paper, hemp paper, natural fiber clothing, and practical renewable energy goods. She is co-founder of the non-profit Business As Unusual Group, which annually organizes a well-attended Natural Building Workshop in Ridgway, Colorado and sponsors monthly films and other environmentally, socially, and economically conscious functions.
